Learning from the Pilot
Twenty First Century Science was piloted in about 76 schools in England. The first cohort of students took final GCSE exams in June 2005 at the end of their two-year GCSE courses. See Teaching the courses for how they got on.
The materials for the courses available to all schools from September 2006 were modified in the light of pilot feedback.
The specifications and exams were also revised in the light of comments from pilot schools and from QCA.
