Do the courses ignore practical work?

This is certainly not the case in Twenty First Century Science.

The purposes of practical work in each of the courses in the programme are different. The extent and diversity of practical work are matched to the aims of each course.

Overall there is no less practical work for those doing two or three science GCSEs than in the double-award courses. Even the minority doing just the single, scientific literacy course will experience a good range of practical work.
