KS3 STEM new pilot resources

FootprintsFor the second half of the summer term: Nuffield have just produced some new KS3 pilot resources for cross-curricular work in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

Students as forensic scientists! In Velocity AT1 pupils investigate the theft of a pair of high-tech sprint shoes from a top British athlete just before the 2012 Olympic Games, hunting for clues and analysing what they find (fake blood, ink on a ransom note, shoe prints, and so on).

In Fit for purpose pupils investigate ways in which athletes can get fit to improve their chances of winning. They end with learning how to do the New Zealand haka.

In Going for Gold pupils find out about technological improvements and put in a bid to win a contract for the Games.
